Friday Favorites!

One thing I'd like to do on this blog is post my weekly Friday Favorites! These are things that I've particularly enjoyed in the past week.

This week's Friday Favorites

CoverGirl Outlast All-Day Lipcolor

CoverGirl Outlast All-Day Lipcolor #621

I'm normally more of a chapstick kind of girl but I had a coupon for any CoverGirl Outlast lip product and decided to give it a try. Nothing too crazy, though! I bought a pretty neutral shade (621) and am impressed by how well it lasts without creasing/clumping or doing any of the things lipstick in high school seemed to do that made me look ridiculous and go back to chapstick. It lasts through my 10-hour work shifts even with all the coffee, tea, and snacking.

Since I work graveyard shifts, I'll call it the CoverGirl Outlast "All-Night" Lipcolor

Storm by Cougar rain boots

I love the little buckle detail!

After I moved to King County, the rain started falling and it hasn't really stopped since. My old boots were not waterproof and my socks got soaked every time we went out. I found these awesome boots at DSW for a reasonable price and loved how they were half rubber boot and half cute boot. Growing up on a farm-like environment, it is hard for me to ever see rubber boots as cute. Unlike the farm rubber boots, these ones have a soft, warm liner and don't eat my socks. I love these boots!

My best bud

This little guy is always happy to see me, loves going places with me, and, yes, needs a haircut. This is Tucker, our 3-year-old Shi-Pom. I hope everyone has something in their life that makes them as consistently happy and full of love as Tucker makes me. :-)

Why I'm blogging

In no particular order:

  1. I work nights and sleep all day so it's really hard to keep in touch with friends and family. Maybe this will help?
  2. Other blogs such as The Daybook (and Pinterest!) inspired me to get back in touch with my creative side.
  3. For the first time in my adult life I feel like I can breathe and maybe start having fun again because:
    1. I am finally earning an OK salary in a thriving field and don't have to always stress about money like before.
    2. My new job does not cause me to be jaded, emotionally exhausted or paranoid (former jobs include newspaper journalist, waitress, and retail sales associate).
    3. The Seattle area (my new home) is full of life and new things to explore, which I'd love to share with you!
  4. Also, because I'm in my mid-20's and all-too-often dress like a 14-year-old. Maybe that's because for the last 2.5 years I lived in a place where the People of Walmart are regularly sighted, so it's not hard to look dressed up. I'd like to use this blog as a way to connect to local fashionistas and have fun with some new looks.
Me tonight: Hollister hoodie, plain white t-shirt, American Eagle jeans and my new Puma kicks (these aren't going anywhere!)
There will be no politics, no religion and no posts on what I had for lunch (unless it's something crazy or super special) -- I promise! This is all for fun and I'm excited to see where it takes me.

Till next time. :-)
